For the upcoming Amazon dramedy film Uncle Frank, writer/director Alan Ball trades allegories about mortuaries (Six Feet Under) and vampires (True Blood) for a more direct tale of acceptance. Although, the famed screenwriter of American Beauty is still hoping to bring a sense of poignance nonetheless.
Paul Bettany stars as Frank, a gay man that has spent the bulk of his adult life hiding his true self from his very conservative family...well until his young niece (Played by Sophia Lillis) learns of his sexuality. And not only that, she urges him to face the trauma and secrets that he’s been hiding for years.
The film is set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on November 25. Check out the official trailer for the film below:
