A lot of the stuff in the new trailer for Without Remorse, covering the origin story of the popular Tom Clancy character John Clark and how he ultimately joined the CIA (Based on the 1993 novel of the same name), are things you've seen before. Despite being a spin-off of the popular Jack Ryan film adaptations (Clark has been featured in several of the films in a supporting capacity), it'll be curious how this film will separate itself from the countless Clancy adaptations. Though with a script co-written by the likes Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, TV's Yellowstone), it's not impossible to believe the trailer masks the more unique stuff to come. Especially as Sheridan reteams with director Stefano Sollima who last took the helm of the solid film Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Check out the trailer below:
Without Remorse stars Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Luke Mitchell, Jack Kesy, Brett Gelman, Colman Domingo, and Guy Pearce. It is set to be released on Amazon Prime on April 30th.
Looks generic as fuck. And I don't recall John Clark being black in the books.
