After she self-producing the now hit show The Sinner to establish herself in more challenging projects as both a producer and an actress, it seems like Jessica Biel is ready to show that wasn't a one-time fluke. It's been confirmed she will take over for actress Elisabeth Moss in the lead role of the upcoming true crime-inspired limited drama series Candy. Moss had to exit the project due to scheduling issues.
The series follows a Texan woman named Candy Montgomery (Played by Biel) who, in 1980, killed her friend Betty Gore with an axe despite Candy having been living a seemingly perfect home life. IN addition to taking on the starring role, Biel will also pick up an executive producer credit alongside Nick Antosca, Michelle Purple, Michael Uppendahl, and Alex Hedlund. Robin Veith wrote the pilot script. Stay tuned!
