Christina Ricci Joins "The Matrix 4"

It is a wonder exactly how The Matrix 4 will continue the pretty definitive ending of 2003's The Matrix Revolutions, nor how Keanu Reeves or Carrie-Anne Moss are returning giving both seemingly died in the third film. But one thing is certain is that the casting alone is keeping anticipated audiences guessing. While Jada Pinkett Smith are all returning in the role of Niobe and Lambert Wilson is also returning as The Merovingian (as well as Daniel Bernhardt will return as Agent Johnson), the newcomers is quite eclectic. Some of the big ones mentioned are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), and Jonathan Groff (Broadway's Hamilton). And now, the cast has quietly expanded courtesy of a press kit for the film which confirmed that actress Christina Ricci (Addams Family, Black Snake Moan) is part of the cast.

What will the fan favorite actress play in the mysterious sequel?

Her role was no disclosed but her casting was initially reported over at Collider who spotted her name on the press kit. The size of her role has not been confirmed either, but it's a pretty interesting addition to the sequel. Lana Wachowski is solely directing the film from a script she made with authors David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas, The Bone Clocks) and Aleksandar Hemon (Nowhere Man, The Lazarus Project). The film is currently set to be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22nd. Stay tuned!
