DC FanDome 2021: Featurettes

Next up at today's DC FanDome, several featurettes were released for big movies that are still in production and thus the featurettes released today intersperse complete footage with behind-the-scenes material and animated storyboards of scenes that have yet to be shot. Check them out below...

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Featurette)

Lacking in any official footage, the featurette for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom nonetheless teases a film that looks to surpass the pretty ambitious scope of the previous film that surprised at the box office with over $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales.

Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul Mateen II confirmed to return for the sequel that began filming in Hawaii in July. Pilou Asbæek joins the cast with James Wan returning as director. It is set to hit theaters on December 16th, 2022. Check out the featurette below:

Black Adam (First Clip/Featurette)

Serving as both a featurette of the long-in-development film as well as offering the first official clip of Dwayne Johnson as the titular character. In addition, as the Justice Society of America will make their live-action introduction on the big screen in this film, Johnson's various co-stars introduce themselves and what characters they are playing. The film will see Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, and Bodhi Sabongui are confirmed to co-star

Shooting on the project began back in April with post-production having just begun. Check out the official clip/featurette below:

The film is directed by Johnson's regular collaborator Jaume Collet-Serra. The character is ultimately meant to serve as the main villain of Shazam and was teased in the first Shazam! film at the end. Speaking of which...

Fury of the Gods released a featurette as well which not only shows the return of the Shazam family but also gave the first look of the sequel's villains, Herspera and Kalypso (Played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, respectively).
