Continuing to expand their ever-growing roster of original programs, Disney+ has just released the official trailer for their new unscripted new puppet show Earth to Ned which is being done over at the Jim Henson Company.
The half-hour comedic talk show, much in the fashion of all of Henson's past concepts, features an actual in-canon backstory to it's very existence in which aliens have called off the invasion of Earth after they fall in love with human culture. Now, blue-skinned alien commander Ned, and his lieutenant Cornelius, will talk to slew of numerous guests of Earth's culture, all while they keep it a secret from Ned's home planet. Otherwise, Ned (And us) will suffer the wrath of his father, the Admiral of the Galactic Fleet. With the help of the ship’s artificial intelligence, BETI, and the destructive CLODs (Cloned Living Organisms of Destruction), Ned just might pull this ruse off.
Earth to Ned is scheduled to premiere on the streaming service on Friday, September 4th. Confirmed guests for the show include RuPaul, Taye Diggs, Lil Rel Howery, Joel McHale, Eli Roth, Michael Ian Black, Rachel Bilson, Bindi and Robert Irwin, Gillian Jacobs, Thomas Lennon, Kristen Schaal, Raven Symone, and The Mandalorian actors Billy Dee Williams and Gina Carano among others.
