Stephen Dorff may never have gotten that Deacon Frost spin-off he was promised decades ago but looking at him in the first trailer for Embattled...he looks ready now more than ever to take on Blade! The synopsis is as follows:
Raised by an abusive father, Cash (Played by Dorff) channels his aggression to become a World Champion MMA fighter. Now accustomed to wealth, adulation, and global popularity, he faces a new challenge when his second son is born with Williams Syndrome. But this time, rather than stand and fight, he runs. While Cash continues to make his fortune in the ring, his eldest son Jett (Played by Darren Mann) becomes the caregiver to his younger brother Quinn (Played by Colin McKenna). When Jett decides to follow his father’s fighting footsteps and take to the fight game, he faces his past head on, embarking on a course inevitably pitting father versus son in a battle which, no matter the outcome, neither can win.
The poster released today really works to, in a simple way, embody the way Jett will walk in the shadow of his father:
Nick Sarkisov, a Russian filmmaker that previously wrote and directed the 2016 feature Krasny, takes the helm from a script by David McKenna (American History X). The film will also feature the on-screen talents of Elizabeth Reaser, Karrueche Tran, Donald Faison, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Ava Capri. Check out the official trailer below:
Embattled is set to be released in theaters and VOD on November 20th. Stay tuned!
