The upgraded version of Final Fantasy VII Remake (Titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade) is pretty much a nice polished version of the game from last year, though with a few interesting additions. Beyond improved visuals and shorter load times, the upgrade will add the ability to use photo mode. The big attraction for it though is players can use the traditional turn-based controls while in the game's normal difficulty mode. All of this will be available at no additional cost to owners of the PS4 version.
However, for anyone lucky enough to possess a PS5, Square Enix (the company behind the game) will also introduce an exclusive expansion titled Episode Intermission that will feature the playable character Yuffie Kisaragi, a fan-favorite who does not appear in the Midgar segment of the original game. The episode expansion will be included with the purchase of Intergrade, but must be purchased separately if players are using the free upgrade from the PS4 version.
Either way, with the upgrade set to hit next month (June 10th), a final trailer promoting all these new features has been released today, giving a glimpse of Yuffie's episode. Check it out below:
