FX's "Black Narcissus" Miniseries Debuts Official Trailer

Author Rumer Godden's 1939 novel Black Narcissus was last adapted into the acclaimed 1947 psychological thriller of the same name. It is now set to be adapted into a miniseries on FX, it's premiere date on the channel being November 23rd. Much like the original novel (and film), the story will revolve around a small convent of nuns trying to establish a school and hospital in the old palace of an Indian Raja at the top of an isolated mountain in the Himalayas. However, upon arrival, the initially stoic nuns find themselves tempted by a number of erotic sources from the palace itself (Which has ancient Indian erotic paintings on its walls) to an attractive middle-aged Englishman named Mr. Dean (Who this time will be played by Alessandro Nivola).

On a more tragic note, the miniseries will feature one of the final performances of Diana Riggs, who passed earlier this month (September 10th to be exact). She will be playing the role of Mother Dorothea alongside Gemma Arterton who takes center stage as Sister Clodagh. And today, the miniseries has released it's official trailer which conveys the chaste convent of women facing a seedy dive into temptation. Check it out below:

Black Narcissus will premiere on FX on November 23rd. Following each episode's airing on the channel, those episodes will then become available the next day on Hulu. Stay tuned!
