A first for noted Japanese animation masters, Studio Ghibli, is CG animation being used for their next feature Earwig and the Witch. Though, unlike several of their past acclaimed films, this film is actually a television film not made for the theatrical experience. The synopsis is as follows:

In 1990's England, Earwig, a 10-year-old orphan girl who grew up without knowing that she is a witch's daughter, is taken from the orphanage by a strange duo and starts living with them.

The first English-language trailer released today puts on display some of the English dubbed voices for the US release that with include noted actors such as Richard E. Grant and Dan Stevens. Check it out below:

Earwig and the Witch is directed by Gorō Miyazaki (Son of Ghibli's great storyteller Hayao Miyazaki). It is set to premiere on NHK in Japan on December 30th before GKIDS releases it in North America shortly after.
