Jason Derulo Had High Hopes for Hooper's "Cats"

The Tom Hooper-directed film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's popular play Cats...well it didn't go well. Yet, many had high hopes for it, including the film's co-stars Jason Derulo when he signed up for the production.Speaking with The Telegraph, talks about his excitement when initially taking on the role:

“For the longest time, I was trying to figure out what’s the perfect first role. Cats checked all the boxes. You can’t get a more star-studded cast, you don’t get a more respected director than an Oscar winner, and Rum Tum Tugger is a legacy role, a standout character in a classic musical.”

He added that, even when the first trailer hit and was questioned for it's "nightmarish" production design, Derulo still had high hopes:

“When I saw the trailer, I thought it looked unbelievable. Like, I know some people saw it and they were terrified, but I got chills down my spine! I thought it was gonna change the world.”

Derulo claims to have no regrets and is looking forward to his next project:

“You can’t wait for the perfect moment, cause that might not be your moment. So you’ve just got to go for gold. That’s how I’ll move forward.”

Well...it's good someone got a positive experience out of that film. This journalist wishes he could say the same thing...but there has been revealed to be a "Butthole Cut" of the film...it's very hard to.

Stay tuned!
