Mads Mikkelsen Praises Indy 5 Script

After years of development, Harrison Ford's last adventure as the fedora-wearing, whip-yielding archaeologist looks to be finally in development with James Mangold set to direct with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen recently joining the project. Today, in talking with Collider, Mikkelsen got very complimentary about the script written by Jonathan Kasdan and David Koeep (with the story coming from George Lucas), while also revealing how much of a fan he is of the franchise as a whole. Here were his thoughts:

“I’m very, very excited about it… I rewatched Raiders of the Lost Ark the other day, it is so well-done and so charming, and it’s such great storytelling. So yes it’s a great honor to be part of that franchise that I grew up with… I’m in a lucky position where they let me read the script before. And yes, it was everything I wished it to be, so that was just great.”

The film is currently eyeing a release date of July 29th, 2022, after having been pushed back multiple times since the last film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, landed in theaters in 2008. Looks like finally they will actually meet the release date. Stay tuned!
