Mads Mikkelson Joins Indiana Jones 5

The fifth Indiana Jones film that will see Harrison Ford don the fedora one final time is looking to be the most unique in all regards. While Ford is returning, the franchise's stable director Steven Spielberg is residing himself to a producer (Alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel). Instead, James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Ford v Ferrari) will take the helm though John Williams is returning to score the film.

However, casting has been rather intriguing, making one wonder what kind of story Jonathan Kasdan and David Koepp (With a story by George Lucas) have conjured up. Not only is Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge joining as the female lead, but now it's been confirmed that Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal, Doctor Strange) has joined the cast as well. Though, like Waller-Bridge, no word has been given what Mikkelson's actual character is.

Mikkelsen: "I'm going to be a villain. I just know it. I can be nice too, you know?"

The film is currently set to be released on July 29th, 2022. And it looks like this release date (After years of getting pushed back) might finally be the one that sticks as the film seems to have forward momentum in production! Stay tuned!
