Movie Fact #181 - April 7th, 2021

While there have been more recent examples, such as Michael Bay using footage from his 2005 film The Island in his 2011 film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, filmmakers and studios using archive footage from previous films to fill in required footage for new films is...well not a new thing at all. An example is the 1952 classic The Snows of Kilimanjaro. In the film, several bullfight sequences are shown and those sequences are actually archive footage, taken from 20th Century Fox's 1941 film Blood and Sand (Fox would also distribute The Snows of Kilimanjaro).
