In the 1948 film Docks of New Orleans, the routine that Mantan Moreland (in the role of Birmingham Brown) does with Haywood Jones is a partial recreation of Moreland's nightclub act, "Indefinite Talk," in which two characters anticipate each other's dialogue. Moreland did this with numerous partners, most notably with Ben Carter. Clearly, it was quite popular if he felt he could utilize it on the big screen! Stay tuned!
