Movie Fact #323 - March 10th, 2022

 

The 2012 French drama film Renoir, based on the last years of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir at Cagnes-sur-Mer during World War I, was the official submission of France to the Oscars 2014 best foreign language film category. Sadly it was not nominated, but was hailed both in France and the United States to the point it was on the Critic's Pick list of The New York Times. So, it least it crossed that boundary.
