However, Netflix once again has come to save the day, having snatched up the distribution rights from Fox last year and now the streaming service has released a trailer revealing when each installment will be released.

The films will be interconnected, using the framing device of a group of teenagers who discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town of Shadyside, Ohio goes back generations. Each installment will be set in a different time periods across three centuries and Netflix confirmed today that the three films will be released over three consecutive weeks in July.
