
The 2019 college admissions scandal, which famously led to the convictions of actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, was one that led bigger questions about the validity of college admissions into top schools for the children of various wealthy friends of Rick Singer. It was particularly alarming the lengths Singer went to to pull this off. He not only managed to commit admission test fraud, but also falsified sports credentials and bribed school officials.
Now, using a combination of interviews and narrative recreations of the FBI’s wiretapped conversations between Singer and his clients, filmmaker Chris Smith (Who last directed the Fyre documentary and executive-produced the popular Netflix miniseries Tiger King) dives headfirst into these events. In addition, actor Matthew Modine will portray Singer in the dramatizations of the recorded conversations Singer had.
Titled Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal, the official trailer has been released online ahead of it's March 17th release on Netflix. Check it out below:
