Pieces of a Woman has gained early award buzz for lead actress Vanessa Kirby. Upon the film's world premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival, Kirby won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress. Clearly, she drives home a tragic tale whose synopsis is heartbreaking upon even a quick read:
Martha and Sean Carson (Played by Kirby and Shia LaBeouf) are a Boston couple on the verge of parenthood whose lives change irrevocably during a home birth at the hands of a flustered midwife, who faces charges of criminal negligence. Thus begins a year-long odyssey for Martha, who must navigate her grief while working through fractious relationships with her husband and her domineering mother, along with the publicly vilified midwife whom she must face in court.
And now, today, the official trailer has been released which you can check out below:
Pieces of a Woman co-stars Molly Parker, Sarah Snook, Iliza Shlesinger, Benny Safdie, Jimmie Fails, and Ellen Burstyn. It is directed by Kornél Mundruczó, set to have a limited release in theaters on December 30th, followed by a release on Netflix on January 7th, 2020.
Ah shia...made the mistake of going against Spielberg and ended his career along with Megan fox.
