"No Sudden Move" Gets Teaser, Stills, and Premiere Dates

Steven Soderbergh was one of the first filmmakers to support streaming and he's shown that pretty definitively by releasing his last three projects on streaming services. First, he released High Flying Bird and The Laundromat on Netflix before moving over to HBO Max last year to release his improv-heavy dramedy Let Them All Talk. Soderbergh seems quite comfortable over at HBO Max as his next two films are set to be released on there. While the second of the two (titled KIMI) has had no official release made, today the first of the two, titled No Sudden Move has released a plethora of content. As a quick tease, let's start with the stills that show off some of the impressive array of actors:

The upcoming crime thriller, set in 1955 in Detroit, focuses on a group of criminals brought together under mysterious circumstances and have to work together to uncover what’s really going on when their simple job goes completely sideways. It has been confirmed today for both it's world premiere at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival in June, followed by it's release on HBO Max on July 1st (though the film's screenwriter, Ed Soloman, teased this week's ago).

Tribeca is actually having it's 20th Anniversary this year, running from June 9th to June 20th, with Soderbergh's film set to have the honor of being the Centerpiece Gala picture. A lucky break especially given the film's production was halted due to the pandemic that also saw several actors drop out. Still, the teaser released today shows that, as always, Soderbergh's passion is uncompromising:

No Sudden Move stars Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser, Noah Jupe, Julia Fox, and Amy Seimetz. Stay tuned!
