Serving as her directorial debut, Halle Berry has spent the last year advertising the physical work she also put into playing the lead character in the upcoming sports drama Bruised. A physicality that she teased back when she co-starred in John Wick: Chapter 3 a couple years ago. Originally debuting last year at film festivals, Bruised was held off until it could be released simultaneously in theaters and on Netflix (who picked up the distribution rights last year), putting Berry potentially in the awards circuit for this and next year. The synopsis is as followed:
Disgraced mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jackie Justice (Played by Halle Berry) has to face one of the rising stars of the MMA world and deal with the return of her 6-year-old son to the mother he deserves.

Bruised co-stars Shamier Anderson, Adan Canto, Sheila Atim, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. It is set to have a limited release in theaters on November 24th (the same day of which it will arrive on Netflix).
