An origin story for Cruella de Vil? Starring Emma Stone?
Set in 1970's London, it's one of the more out-there concepts in the slew of live-action Disney remakes we've gotten lately, as the trailer below puts on display. It's not even a remake, but a lead-in to a remake that's been done as a live-action film of 101 Dalmations (And its sequel) is still fresh in people's minds. Particularly given Glenn Close's iconic take on Cruella, the role that Stone is now taking on herself. Though Close seems okay with this as she herself is serving as an executive producer on Cruella. Cruella stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, and Mark Strong. It is directed by Craig Gillespie and is set to be released theatrically on May 28th.
