Social media is not exactly very social and rather focuses more on the media element. Whether intentional or not, within an instant one's life becomes fully exposed on the internet. And it also doesn't exactly bring out the best in people. The upcoming comedy film Eat Wheaties!, updated from the 2003 novel The Locklear Letters by Michael Kun, looks to cover the lunacy of the modern age.
The story follows Sid Straw (Played by Tony Hale) who finds himself named co-chair of his college reunion alongside his famous college classmate...actress Elizabeth Banks. After accidently stalking her on social media, his messages to her go viral and Sid increasingly fails to prove he actually knows Banks. Ultimately finding himself banned from the reunion. Sid hires an inexperienced lawyer to help clear his name and discover the best version of himself.
After a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film (which was well-received at film festivals last year), will land in theaters and on-demand on April 30th of this year. And with that, check out the new official trailer for the film below:
