Serving as the feature-length directorial debut of Matthew Saville (who also wrote the script), Juniper primarily allows screen legend Charlotte Rampling to chew up the scenery. The dark comedic tale sees Rampling as a feisty alcoholic grandmother who comes to visit her self-destructive teenage grandson Sam (Played by George Ferrier) who is still reeling after the death of his mother. With Sam suspended from school, his punishment of watching over his grandmother, an ex-war photographer, leads Sam to confront his choices and reconsider his recent decision to plan his own suicide.
The indie film is landing in theaters on August 26th following the film being ready last year but delayed due to the pandemic. Now the official trailer has been released. Check it out below:
