Joining the long list of revivals and reboots, the official trailer for the upcoming reboot of Saved by the Bell, a direct sequel to the original Saved by the Bell and Saved by the Bell: The College Years, has been released. While the show will see the return of Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano and Mario Lopez as A.C. Slater (Along with recurring appearances by Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris and Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Kapowskia), the primary stars will be a new group of Bayside High students from "overprivileged" and working-class families, the latter of which are transferred to the school as part of a plan by now-California Governor Zack Morris.
This directly reflects real-life issues with the education system where low-income high schools have been closed and, like in the show, lower-income students are sent to the highest-performing schools. This is the plan of Morris's administration and the trailer indicates how it will lead a combustible environment. Check it out below:
Saved by the Bell is set to premiere on November 25, 2020 on the streaming service Peacock. Stay tuned!
