Official Trailer: "The Green Knight"

Writer: Nicholas E. LauerNicholas E. Lauer

Last week, the upcoming David Lowery-directed film The Green Knight released a series of character posters that all carried the expression "One year hence". The line itself comes from the poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (of which the film is based on) in which King Arthur's nephew Gawain who embarks on a quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight one year after having delivered a blow to the creature. The creature grants Gawain one year to prepare for a rematch.

If anything, Lowery's upcoming adaptation epitomizes the concept that it's not about the destination, but the journey. We know the story will most likely end with Gawain taking on the Green Knight in a duel, but the official trailer shows that he will undergo an intense and life-changing journey to get there. One that may change the outcome more than audiences anticipate. Check out the new trailer below:

The Green Knight stars Dev Patel, Ralph Ineson, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, and Barry Keoghan. It is set to land in theaters on May 29th.
