While the inspirations for Peacock's new six-part mystery limited series Departure are as clear as day, it's in it's cast that it finds it's grace. The ever-talented veteran Christopher Plummer and the up-and-comer Archie Panjabi (Known for her breakout role in the show The Good Wife). And, perhaps, another would be the fact the series is in fact limited, thus allowing for a more tension-filled narrative. The synopsis is as follows:
When passenger plane Flight 716 shockingly vanishes in mid-air, brilliant investigator Kendra Malley (Played by Panjabi), alongside her mentor Howard Lawson (Played by Plummer) are brought on to lead the investigation. However, things become more complicated when a survivor is rescued from the ocean and quickly becomes a terrorism suspect. Now, Kendra must find the truth and stop it from happening again, all while she battles forces that threaten to undermine their investigation.
While the series aired in the UK last year, it will appear on the streaming service Peacock on September 17th. Check out the official trailer below:
