A lot of people thought that John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum was to be the end of Keanu Reeves' assassin character. But, in a twist, the third chapter ended with the titular character set on another journey of revenge. And, as Reeves revealed in a recently appearance on Today to promote his new comic book, Brzrkr (and the upcoming Netflix film and anime adaptations of it), Chapter 4 will be one wild tale. The interview naturally came around to asking him about the two upcoming fourth installments of The Matrix and John Wick, but Reeves in particular teased the latter, saying the following:
"They're fun. They're intense. We're going for it. There's some really amazing John Wick action and new characters and it's been really fun to be playing the role again and to be telling this story. You know, there's new characters and we're opening up the world. Right now we're just shooting this crazy fight scene in the middle of traffic. So there's car crashes, gun fights."
It'll be interesting to see where the film goes, particularly because this will be the first installment of the franchise not written by Derek Kolstad. Instead, the script will be co-written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Still, his claims of wild action seems pretty plausible given famed martial artists Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins have been cast in the film in major, undisclosed roles. It will be interesting to see how far Wick will go in this film and already announced fifth film which is expected to be Reeves final bow in the role.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is once again directed by Chad Stahelski and is set to land in theaters May 27th, 2022.
