Keeping with the first-person perspective that made Resident Evil 7: Biohazard such a successful revival of the long-running survival horror franchise, Resident Evil Village will also see the return of that installment's protagonist Ethan Winters. Winters distinguished himself from past RE protagonists by being a regular guy in a bad situation, as opposed to more military-trained characters like Leon Kennedy or Chris Redfield...the latter of which seems to be teased as a villain in this new game.
Despite Ethan now living a peaceful life with his wife Mia, Chris disrupts their life, leaving Ethan devastated and seeking to uncover the mysterious new horror that plague a once peaceful village. And today, a "Developers Insight" video has been released that both teases new footage from the game as well as diving into some of the creative process put into the new game. Check it out below:
Resident Evil Village is set to be available sometime in 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
