Shawn Ashmore to Appear in Season 2 of Amazon's"The Boys"


We're now less than a month away from the highly anticipated season 2 premiere of Amazon's hit show The Boys. The series will premiere it's first three episodes of the new season on Friday, September 4th, followed by a weekly rollout with the season finale set to air on October 9th. And while there is no confirmation how many episodes he will be in, it's been confirmed that Shawn Ashmore, known for playing Bobby Drake/Iceman in the X-Men films, will be appearing in the new season in a small but vital role as the pyrokinetic-powered Lamplighter, a former superstar member of the Seven before he left under mysterious circumstances.

Pyro: "The irony is not lost upon be, Bobby. Glad to see you finally came around to my way of thinking, Iceboy."

For those unfamiliar with the show or the comics, in both forms of media Lamplighter held the position on the Seven that Starlight came in and took over at the beginning of the story. In the comics, Lamplighter also has ties the Boys’ tragic history and even is the reason they broke up eight years ago. His re-appearance is set to “changes everything". We won't see how until the new season arrives. Stay tuned!
