Tatiana Maslany Cast as Marvel's She-Hulk
While it had just been announced earlier this week that Kat Coiro would direct several episodes of a Marvel series centered around She-Hulk, it's now been confirmed that Tatiana Maslany, who made her breakout in the show Orphan Black and recently was seen in the HBO series Perry Mason, will play the title character.
Maslany will play Jennifer Walters. In the comics, she is the cousin of Bruce Banner/The Hulk. When she's forced to take an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, she is given her own variation of the Hulk's incredible powers. However, while she does get big and green, unlike her cousin, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulks out and she even continues her profession as an attorney in the comics.
News of Maslany's casting follows closely after the announcement of Jessica Gao leading the writers room and the news that broke earlier this week that Kat Coiro would direct several episodes, including the pilot. She-Hulk is expected to join the growing roster of solo shows planned for the MCU that will play on Disney+, following WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye. Stay tuned!
