Despite Joss Whedon stepping down (His official reason was he felt it difficult to run the series in COVID), his next creation The Nevers is still going on ahead and is set to premiere on HBO in April. And today, we finally have a teaser trailer for the long-anticipated series.
Carrying itself like a superhero take on the suffragette movement, the story follows Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities and relentless enemies as attempt to uphold the rights of the underclass and protect those who are like them. And all the while, a mission drives them that might change the world.
The teaser released today definitely conveys elements akin to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Meaning a lot of wit, action, and some serious fun. Check it out below:
British screenwriter Philippa Goslett serves as the new showrunner for the show, following Whedon's departure. Stay tuned!
