This past weekend, co-writer Matthew Tomlin spoke about the procedures that would be taken to make sure production restarts for The Batman were successful (See it here). Now, it's been officially confirmed that the new Matt Reeves-directed film will resume shooting in early September at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom after halting production back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was seven weeks into production with three months of material left to shoot.
Robert Pattinson and others in the cast have been waiting in the U.K. during the pandemic to resume filming, others are expected to begin making their way back to the country soon. As this announcement is made, construction on sets is currently underway. It's been confirmed that fans will get the first glimpse of footage from the film at the first of two DC Fandome events this coming Saturday (See the full schedule here) Stay tuned!
