Following her smaller role in the hit 2017 film The Hitman's Bodyguard, Salma Hayek takes centerstage in the upcoming sequel The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, reprising her role as Sonia, wife to assassin Darius Kincaid (Played by Samuel L. Jackson) who, the first film, found himself forming an unlikely friendship with bodyguard Michael Bryce (Played by Ryan Reynolds). Now, the sequel will see the duo reuniting four years after the events of the original film to protect Sonia from new threats.
Originally set to be released on August 28th of last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film actually was moved to August 20th of this year, but has now been moved up to June 16th, hopefully implying a slow return to normalcy. And what better way to laugh off the direness of the last year with some mindless fun? Check out the teaser trailer for the film and see if The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard might do that for you:
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard co-stars Frank Grillo, Richard E. Grant, Tom Hopper, Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman. Like the first film, the sequel will be once again directed by Patrick Hughes. Stay tuned!
It came out after deadpool...RR was on a roll...
This is what it's come to. A sequel to a mediocre film I didn't see to begin with.
Hello darkness my old friend.
