Taylor Sheridan has been quite the busy creative force. Not only is he running the hit Paramount show Yellowstone, but he's signed a deal with that studio to produce even more shows along with spin-offs of that initial hit. But that hasn't stopped him from getting back behind-the-camera in his first directorial effort since his well-received 2017 film Wind River. Much like that and all his projects, Sheridan seems ready to drop audiences back into the wilderness for an insane thriller with Those Who Wish Me Dead, based on the novel of the same name by Michael Kotya.
Kotya himself contributes to the screenplay alongside Sheridan and Charles Leavitt. Angelina Jolie stars as Hannah Faber, a veteran fire warden and wilderness survival expert who offers shelter in her lookout tower to a young teenage boy (Played by Finn Little) who as witnessed the murder of his father near a large national forest. Pursued by assassins intent on silencing him, these assassins set fire to the forest in order to cover their tracks, requiring Hannah and the boy to both survive a deadly blaze that threatens to consume them and outwit the killers on their trail.
Today, the official trailer has been released which shows the film might be as tension-filled as Sheridan has come to deliver in his career thus far. Check it out below:
Those Who Want Me Dead co-stars Nicholas Hoult, Aidan Gillen, Jon Bernthal, and Tyler Perry. It is set to be released in the United States on May 14th 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures (Under the New Line Cinema banner). It will be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on the same day.
