Movie Fact #165 - March 7th, 2021
Sometimes, to make a character work, an actor needs to face a reality. For the 2016 film Their Finest, when asked what his reactions were to being cast as Ambrose Hilliard, actor Bill Nighy had this to say:
"They were looking for someone to play a chronically self-absorbed actor in his declining years, and they thought of me, which is something that's easier to process on some mornings rather than others."
The benefit of this was Nighy ended up being the most highly-praised part of the film, often referred to as a scene-stealer. Irony never felt so good for Nighy, I imagine. Stay tuned!
